Garn Isaf Abercastle Reviews
Sep 16, 2007
'Garn Isaf' is a small place at Abercastle on the Pembrokeshire coast. It is at the heart of the famous coastal path and just 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach. There are loads of other beaches nearby as well as sea kayaking and sea cliff climbing. There is great wildlife around too and even a neolithic burial site 'Carreg Sampson'. A 4 star guest house or a 5 star rental cottage can be chosen or for budget travellers, there is also a few acres of camping space. There is great wildlife there too, with seals sometimes coming onto the beach. Nearby is the city of St Davids, the smallest city in the UK, which is more like a village. It is a city though because it has a cathedral, which is listed as a world heritage site. You can also take boat trips to offshore islands to see nesting seabirds and basking seals.
Garn Isaf is a small family ran place, so the service is exceptional, nothing is too much trouble. They can even provide a slice of home baked apple and blackberry pie if you help them pick the fruits out of the garden. There are inglenut fire places and very cosy beds. If you are an adventure freak, are walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path or are looking for artistic inspiration, its a great place to stay.
