Actually I didn't plan do go shark-diving. But so many other traveler in the backpackers have recommended it. We went by a minibus to Gaansbai where the White Sharks are frequent guests. We saw in 4 hours about 10-12 white sharks and many huge Southern Right Whales, some with their calves. I got a …

Shark diving – or watching, I should say – was different to what I expected. There wasn’t much diving involved, because the bubbles scare the sharks away. Yes, bubbles scare Great White Sharks – I bet you didn’t see that one coming!
We saw one shark. It circled the boat about 50 …

What and awesome trip! I highly recommend it. Johannesberg was OK, fairly typical city.
Cape Town was fantastic, visit the nearby beaches too! I went for a shark dive, but unfortunately there was a very bad accident that day(not with sharks), so I didn't get to go in the water, but I'd still recommend it.
The obligatory safari at Kruger was very cool, with an additional day and a half spent at the Mohlabetsi private reserve, an excellent lodge/reserve!
