must see Sep 12, 2013
The Gamla Stan is the oldest part of the capital and is where Stockholm started. First recorded history dated back to the 13th century, the island is a huge area of historical heritage and many of the sights are just a few meters apart. The small island has a special atmosphere with so much to offer.

The old town of Stockholm is a beautiful place

If you're in Stockholm you can't miss it with it's huge range of shops, cafes and sweet stores.

I'd love to go back and just troll around there someday.

definitely must see location

Way cool, especially in the summer. Hit up some museums and check out the night life!

There are some beautiful coffee houses and tours as well. Make sure you bring cash. the dollar has devaluated against the kronor so its more expensive than when i was there.

The chocolatiers there made some of the best dark chocolate treats i'd ever tasted and I know i'll be going back the next time i visit the city

Stockholm's Old Town Mar 22, 2011
The old town of Stockholm is a beautiful place. But remember to leave the main street Vestrelångatan and take a tour of the sidestreets.

Beautiful historic town centre Aug 23, 2008
Gamla Stan, the historic centre of Stockholm is a mandatory visit for anyone going to Stockholm. Naturally this also makes it the most touristy, and you'll have to wade your way through group tours and ice cream vendors, but once past those you'll appreciate the beauty of this area.

The neighbourhood is very nice to stroll around for a couple of hours, and stop at one of the many sidewalk cafés for a coffee and watch the world go by.

When you walk around the streets be sure to look for Mårten Trotzigs Gränd, which is Stockholm's narrowest lane at less than 1m wide.

Gamla Stan is a historical city centre. We have casually got on changing of the guard. If fairly, not so interestingly, but for a general impression it is possible to look.

There're a lot of various stores with souvenirs. So the choice of gifts is huge.

To me have liked streets in the center. Such narrow, such colourful, such cute! People affable, many know English language.

In some places accept as payment not only a crone but also euro. It has pleased.
