Leaving Newmarket-on-Fergus, we headed north on the N18, which took us through Ennis on our way to Galway City. It was a wonderful drive, but I have to be honest, I don't remember much as I was just trying to take the landscape all in! I think what I remember most is all of the beautiful bright col…

Our GPS had been set for the B&B so we decided to check-in before heading out to eat. We stayed at the Ardwin B&B, which my friends Erin and Ed had stayed in during their trip a few years back. They had positive reviews in their travel blog so I knew mostly what to expect.&n…

I took a trip with my best friend to Dublin, Galway, and out to the cliffs of Moher. The trip was far too brief, and far too windy and cold, but wonderful all the same. There's nothing quite like visiting the stomping grounds of your ancestors.

Today we headed out of Galway and out into the rugged Connemara Region. We headed deep into the area and arrived at Kylemore Abbey. It was first built as a Manor house but is now home to an all-girl’s boarding school. We had a look about the region before getting back on the bus and heading south…

The longer I'm here, the more I love it.The things that strike me-1. The weather - ( a very English thing to talk about!) So changeable here! They said it would be good weather this morning, it looked like it, yet when I left it statrted drizzling and by the time I got into town it was proper…

Wednesday we decided to drive into Galway on our way to the Cliffs of Moher. Much time wasn't spent here. We walked around for a bit, found a large park by the University. It was time for lunch so we made our way into a little pub (only because the manager was placing a menu on the window outsid…

Although a dream of Catherine, the hot German girl sleeping below me, had woken me up at 4:00 in the morning, I got up for the day at 8:00am. Unable to find a travel companion in any of my roommate, I ventured out on my own to see the Spanish Arch. Having only eaten a Power Bar for supp…

I arrived at Galway Airport to find a cool breeze and a sunny sky. After a summer of blazing heat, drought, dead & dying plants in the hot and sticky southern U.S., and longer hours at work than I care to admit to, I knew things were off to a great start.
The purpose of my trip to Irelan…
