Galway, Ireland -› Fanore, Ireland -› …
Clare has beautiful countryside, small town life, and interesting historical sites. One of the best things I did there was to take one of the tour buses to the Cliffs of Moher and other sites along the way. Tours leave from Ennis and Galway for a good price. Ask at the tourist office in either town about the tours and where they go. I give both tourist offices A+ ratings for friendliness and helpfulness.

Some more great scenery today and a bit of magical stories of fairies and leprechauns. We visited Portal Tomb, surrounded by a very barren landscape. Then walk around a fairy ring to get some good luck. But our tour guide was dead serious that if we walked in the middle of the fai…

The first day was a bit short. After the previous tour weekend, I wasn't all that excited about taking another one but I realized that I could never see all that I wanted to see otherwise. It helped that my tour guide this time was great. He was a member of the Irish Army, so, nat…

Majella, (auburnfemirish) joined TravBuddy on July 24th and I looked at her profile photo and wondered if she had done something with the shot to create the tint to her skin or if it was just a different lighting. She said she was not too worried about but I downloaded the photo and changed t…

Galway was a fine town when taken in, in the mornings. I had to make a pit stop at the post office to send off some more goods home, the duffelbag was getting heavier and heavier. We were headed towards Doolin. I cannot believe how much time we spent on the bus. Most pictures were taken i…

Life is too short to hold try-outs. I tried it once and I wanted it more. I always wondered how other people live with different culture and way of life. As much as I could remember from a kid till finished college, the only source that bombarded me was TV and later Internet. I know they are evil. I wanted to see it from my own eyes.

Leaving Newmarket-on-Fergus, we headed north on the N18, which took us through Ennis on our way to Galway City. It was a wonderful drive, but I have to be honest, I don't remember much as I was just trying to take the landscape all in! I think what I remember most is all of the beautiful bright col…
