Galliano Overview

Galliano is a small town of 7700 (up 7% since 2000) located along Louisiana Highway 1 (the Great River Road) and Louisiana Highway 308 in LaFourche Parish in Southern Louisiana not far from the Gulf of Mexico. Galliano was established sometime in the early 1800s and was originally called “Cote Cheramie” after the Zenon Cheramie Family but was renamed for Antoine Galliano, or the Salvatore Galliano Family who started a large farm here and grew citrus trees. Many descendants of the Galliano's still live here with some using the Spanish spelling Galiano and some the Italian spelling Galliano.

Galliano has a very impressive Veterans Park.
