Modern Jewish art in Tel Aviv Sep 08, 2008
Gallery97 displays a collection of works by artists of the Ecole the Paris (School of Paris). The Ecole the paris represent a special period of Jewish culture. The story begins when emancipated Jews of east Europe received quotas to attend the famous European art academies. Many of those students left their hometowns and the Jewish shtetl and went west to seek their luck and to fulfill their dream to become artists in Paris, the art capital of the that time. Gallery97 is the home of a collection of those artists such Alferd Aberdam, Isaac Pailes, Isaac Dobrinsky, Michel Kikoin and many other less known. I recommend a visit in the gallery.
