Gallery Hotel Singapore

True to its name, Gallery Hotel is indeed a gallery for artists to showcase their masterpiece.

The whole hotel is an artwork on its own... But being an artsy hotel doesn't make it boring, rather, the concept that it embodies is modern art... exciting, youthful and hip.

For an artist, well what would be the best canvass to use but the wall of your wall... Back in 2005, Gallery Hotel commissioned 16 young artists from different countries to decorate 16 rooms and wow did they do a great job! Three artists were chosen from the 16 to decorate 3 other suite rooms... these rooms are called CYX, short for Creative Youth Exchange.

Their rooms are a bit small, but well kept and beautifully placed... The best thing is that the hotel is just a walk away from Singapore's party streets, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay... And for that reason the room numbers are written on the floor and not on the doors per se... so try checking the floors...

They have free wi-fi by the way, but just like everything in Singapore, you need to pay for everything else...
