Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Reviews
Glamour and Fashion at Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II Jun 25, 2006
Milan is one of the world's fashion capitals and this galleria houses the most famous designers stores.
It's located at the Duomo’s Square, full of fancy cafes, stores and bookstores. It's so trendy and fashion. It connects the Duomo's square with the Scala square. But it's not only about the stores inside. The architecture of this Galleria is beautiful. Its ceilings and floors are very nice too. Of course everything is expensive here. So I don't think you'd do much shopping here, but at least take a walk through it and feel the fashion in the air. Part of the Backpacking in Europe solo but not lonely :) travel blog |

impressive arcade in the city centre Mar 12, 2006
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II di Milano is a shopping arcade and is situated in the city centre next to the Duomo di Milano.
The Galleria is named by the 1st king of united italy and was designed by Guiseppe Mengoni. In the centre of the Galleria you'll find a beautiful glass dome and on the floor there are mosaic inlays. If you spin around on the "balls" of the bull mosaic it will bring you luck (according to legend). Many luxurios shops like Prada, Gucci,... and nice little cafés and restaurants are located inside. Galleria connects the 2 famous landmarks Duomo di Milano and the Teatro Alla Scala. Everything's very expensive inside but the building is just beautiful and a look worth! It's really nice to go inside and to take a look at all the shops, restaurants... |

Right next to it you have the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. A 19th century style shopping gallery. Much like the one you can see in Brussels but (even) more extravagant. Of course Milan is a shopping and fashion Mekka, and you can see people shopping and aspiring models… A day in Milan |

Once we were back in the light of day, we headed across to the GALLERIA VITTORIO EMANUELE II, a late 19th century masterpiece, possibly the oldest shopping mall in the world. It is glorious, with its mosaic flooring and glass ceilings, but don't expect to find much in terms of variety. PRADA and VUITTON are found here, as well… Finding Sforza |

Those Italians are master in talking with their hands, and we had not trouble at all in understanding it would take us about 25 minutes. (This man turned out to be an exception on providing information). So we set off, and about half an hour later we were at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the glass covered shopping mall next to Piazza dell Duomo.
… Milan, here we are! |
