Neighborhood pub, central location Nov 01, 2016
Just across the River Liffey from the city Centre, towards the train station, is this very homey and central pub which serves delicious local food with a modern twist. Apparently they are known for live music, but the day after the extravagant Cork Jazz Festival ended, I think every pub is taking a well deserved break. I had just done an all day excursion to the Ring of Kerry, it was cold, and I didn't want to stray too far off the route between the bus stop and my B&B. This place looked alive and within my price range. I ordered chicken in a local cider sauce, with Irish veggies and rosti. As Irish love their potatoes, it was nice being served in this tasty classic Swiss way. Of course I drank it with an Irish craft cider. It was delicious, the bartenders friendly, and some good craic as they say. Glad to find an unassuming but very cozy place for my tired tourist body.
