Galeria dos Pães
Galeria dos Pães Reviews
A favorite with the locals Mar 07, 2009
Galeria dos Pães is officially a padaria (a term that in Brazil requires a whole anthropological explanation), but calling it a bakery is severely short-changing the place. It is also a deli, where locals go for a bite afterhours, a small grocery store where you can find gourmet food and wines from all over the world, a breakfast buffet and a great place for people-watching. It's located on a well-known street of the Jardins neighborhood, surrounded by nightclubs and fancy restaurants and tends to attract an ecclectic crowd, madames, nightclubbers, artists, couples, movie-goers. It is always crowded, lively, and the breads and sandwiches are great. After eating your sandwich with a cappucino, take home the huge garlic pizza crust disk, some cheese and fine Spanish Pata Negra ham and you're all set.
