Sada Yacco was a first actress in Japan. She was born in 1871 and become a popular geisha. She got married to Kawakami Otojiro, a promoter. After marriage, She appeared on stage in the United States in 1899. Her husband's troupe gave a public performance at 1900 international exposition in Paris. her acting won high praise by Rodin, Debussy, Gide and Picasso. After her husband's death, she retired from the theatrical world. She lived with Fukuzawa Momosuke, a success businessman. Futaba Museum was a Sada Yacco and Momosuke's salon. Momosuke handled an electric power company. This house were used a lot of electric lights which were once a novelty.
