The Furnace Creek Inn is an oasis in the desert.

Russet tile roofs, golden stucco exteriors, archways, arcades and tower, and turquoise window trim all match the badlands at Zabriskie Point and Artists Drive.

Very central for everything you'd want to see in Death Valley - a terrific spot!

The hotel was built in 1920's so don't expect a modern hotel but the upgrades they have done have given it a historic elegance. The wifi is very good - nice coverage and good speed.

The rooms were very quite and comfortable with a beautiful view of gardens and valley from the patio. We slept great there, beds were very comfy. Lots of channels on TV and nice walk-in closet with fridge. Tea and coffee in a room.

Service at hotel is great. The dining room serves great breakfast and dinner. There is no buffet at the Inn, your breakfast is freshly cooked for you. This did mean that breakfast took a little longer than expected. The restaurant was heavily booked every evening, so make reservation for diner by phone during the day. We felt it was priced appropriately. The service was truly great. Food was delicious. Beautiful views from dining room and lobby with floor to ceiling windows.

A warm spring-fed swimming pool. It is beautiful, large, deep, allows laps and diving, and when we were there wasn't used by anyone else.

It is naturally heated by the spring that creates the oasis, and doesn't use Chlorine. It really was one of the nicest pools I've ever swam in. Wonderful temperature. All the more amazing that you're in the middle of death valley enjoying swimming.

I would highly recommend this resort.

About a mile away, at the inn’s sister property, the Ranch at Furnace Creek.

Furnace Creek Inn Death Valley Overview

This historic hotel was built in 1927, it is nestled against the Funeral Mountains. The Inn offers 66 clasically decorated recently renovated rooms. The Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort is situated in a lush oasis surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park, California - just 120 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada and 275 miles northeast of Los Angeles, California. This is one resort with two hotels - the historic, 4-diamond, 66 room Furnace Creek Inn and the more family oriented 224 room Furnace Creek Ranch.

This resort presents a complete contrast to the desolate desert landscape and consists of an oasis 18-hole golf course (the world's lowest course at 214 feet below sea level), four restaurants, a saloon, a cocktail lounge, retail outlets, a Borax Museum, spring-fed swimming pools, tennis courts, horseback riding, horse-drawn carriage rides, a children's playground, massage therapy, a 3,000 foot airstrip, a service station and conference and banquet facilities for 10 - 120. (Some services are available only on a seasonal basis.) Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort is the perfect vantage point from which to explore Death Valley National Park.
