Fryske pub Echtenerbrug Reviews
Good food by the canal Jun 30, 2008
We found the Fryske Pub rather by accident, looking for a place to eat after we found out our hotel in Delfstrahuizen was in the middle of nowhere. Driving back the way we had come, we crossed a little bridge and noticed the tables outside in a street that ran parallel with the canal. We turned into the street and parked the car by the water.
Since the weather was nice, we took a table outside on the patio, from which we had a nice view of the canal and the boats floating by, paying toll to the brige master.
We never went inside, but it looked and sounded like a big place and there was a birthday party going on.
Service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. I had fried mussels and Isabelle had the 'kip saté'. Normaly you would get only a handfull of mussels, but this was one big dish, and it took a while for me to finish my plate, but this was absolutely fantastic.
And the bill wasn't too expensive either. I think we paid under 30 Euro for this exquisite meal.
