Frutos Prohibidos Travel Reviews

Mar 02, 2007
Frutos Prohibidos is a cosy place where you can enjoy different breakfasts, lunch or even dinner. The menu varies from salads over tortilla sandwiches to eggs, many different fresh made juices, cakes. Anyone can find his choice over there, I think. What I liked most about the place, except the taste of the food ofcourse, is the staff, the sight, the environement, the total atmosphere.
It's situated in the Condesa area, and the owner is an easy going, friendly and informative man.
You're treated in a friendly, personal way, and food is prepared pretty fast.
My advice; Amor and a Van Gogh (sandwich with salmon and a juice with many different fruits, if you're more into the salad, try the one with the tuna)
Salads also come in two sizes. Interesting if you're just a little hungry, or want some extra vegetables on the side.

mdfehmel says: Portuguese in Mexico City? You bet!! And good too. Start with a bottle of Green Wine, pick just about any entree on the menu (I did) and you can’t go wrong, fish dishes in particular. Finish with some flan and Madeira Wine and you will either be ready to out for the night, or for a nice nap. ...
