The Friends Hostel in the downtown of Budapest is a cheap and great location for accomodation. This is a fully renovated Hostel in the second floor of the building.

The hostels location is very good, close to undeground and bus stations. Easy to find. If you want something quiet, this hostel may wont be the best choice for you.

They can offer you private rooms or dormitory. There are 2 apartments available with 3 mins walk away from the main hostel.

The rooms are clean, not very large but still comfortable. We've been there for only one night and we've got the Csontvary room (all rooms are named after famous hungarian painters) with dark red walls and pretty paintings on the wall. They offer bed linen, towels for free and there is a small TV in the room. The reception service is nonstop, there is no curfew adn there is a chance for flexible check in or check out, the staff is friendly, even we just talked about the neccessary things, they were ready to help at any time. The bathroom is shared, but very clean with liqued soap and shower gel, also with possibility of hairdryer rental.. The kitchen is big, and has all neccessary things, we used it only for making coffee. They offer free wifi, what can be really useful. As hungarian in an hungarian hostel, I couldnt be sure about which foreign language are they speaking until I asked them. Fluent English and German language is available and they can speak a little French.

If you dont like walking for hours, in the hostel you can rent bikes (we did not used this offer so I can not say anything about the bikes). There is a laundry service also, if you need.

The hostel has a private driver, who picks you up at the airport or at the train station with a Mercedes Limousin and drives you directly to the hostel. (available only for 2-4 person).

I think this hostel definitely worth a tryout.
