In the middle of the Malate district in Manila you will find Friendly's Guesthouse at the top flours of a building on the corner of Andriatico and Nakpil. It is close to all bars and restaurants in the area and close to Remedios Circle. Hence if you want to participate in the nightlife of Manila you don't really get a better location. Of course being in this area mean you will also encounter a few of the more dodgy elements of Manila.

You can choose between rooms and dorms with or without aircon. The ones without do have fans hence you should be able to survive the night. On the top flour is a big common area with internet access a big TV with a selection of different DVDs you can watch if you like. There is a big kitchen if you like to do a bit of cooking yourself and the there is a roof terrace where you can sit talk and look down over Andriatico if you like.

You can buy some drinks at the hostel if you like and they offer limited travel advice to the most common destinations. The more exotic once - like Vigan - they don't have a clue how to get to.
