Fresno Overview

Fresno is a city and county in central California also known as the San Joaquin Valley. It is about 3 hours south from San Francisco, 2 hours east of Monterey, and 3 hours from Los Angeles. The city has a medium sized airport which provides connecting flights to other cities in the west coast and southwestern part of the United States, as well as one international flight to Guadalajara, Mexico. And it's a great gateway city to Yosemite and Sequoia National Park.

The central valley is one leading agricultural areas in the nation. The world famous Sun-Maid raisins are made in Kingsburg just south of the county. Fresno has a population of about 500,000. River park which is located in the northeastern side of the city has many shopping and restaurants. While the Tower district in central Fresno has many nice and old Victorian houses, as well as craft shops and restaurants. The double A baseball franchise of the San Francisco Giants, known as the Grizzlies plays in the nice stadium the town built for them.
