One of the wildest looking City Halls in the World! Jun 28, 2011
Built in 1991 by the Arthur Erickson Architecture Corp. this five story low-rise building covers two full blocks and is surrounded by parking and landscaping. The facility is 210,000 square feet and the Council Chamber seat 280 people. It is a focal point of the area and draws thousands of people every week. The building is so modern in looks it has been used in several movies, including The Puppet Masters. And it is no wonder why they call it The Spaceship. This is a working city government building and no tours are available, but you can visit and look around at your leisure, although security does keep an eagle eye on everyone who comes in and leaves.
