Freeport Cafe Reviews
Blueberry Pancakes! Mar 24, 2008
One last restaurant review before departing Maine again. The Freeport Café has been a haunt of ours for over twenty years and with good reason. They feature fast and delicious home cooking which always hits the spot at great prices (mind that you are in the very heart of tourist country). The supreme offerings are on their breakfast menu and the cool thing is that you can order breakfast all day long.
Regardless that you can order the morning meal at any hour, we make it a point to arrive during breakfast hours whenever we are near to Freeport (my wife can’t pass up an opportunity to savor their blueberry pancakes). The only sour note of our last visit was when my daughter left behind the doggie bag with the remains of her breakfast sticky bun – it was so huge she couldn’t finish it and it was the only thing she had ordered! They always have a great selection of muffins and baked goods to start your day and their daily soup specials will provide tasty warmth on those chilly Maine days.
You will see the café on the right just after you pass exit 17 for I-95 as you head north on Coastal 1. It is between Yarmouth and Freeport and a part of the Best Western Inn there.
Don’t miss out if you are passing by.....especially if you are hungry!
