Freedom Square Travel Reviews

May 21, 2007
This square I believe is one of the larger ones in Tbilisi. In the center of it there used to be a huge statue of Lenin, but this has been removed. I heard from some locals that a statue of a Saint was to replace it, but I can't remember which one. The Town Hall on one of the edges is a dazzling architectural mix. One can see a lot of central Asian heritage in the façade, demonstrating quite beautifully Georgia's mixed heritage. Plus, there are many things to see in the area nearby, including the sulphur baths, Narikala fortress and a variety of restaurants.
