This square I believe is one of the larger ones in Tbilisi. In the center of it there used to be a huge statue of Lenin, but this has been removed. I heard from some locals that a statue of a Saint was to replace it, but I can't remember which one. The Town Hall on one of the edges is a dazzling architectural mix. One can see a lot of central Asian heritage in the fa├žade, demonstrating quite beautifully Georgia's mixed heritage. Plus, there are many things to see in the area nearby, including the sulphur baths, Narikala fortress and a variety of restaurants.
