If your living off your backpack with little savings and not sure how you will be able to afford to eat, there is free food to be had.
Most small pubs in Granada offer free Tapas when you order a drink. It might apply to other places in Spain. But I only noticed in Granada for the month I was in Spain. They keep bringing in the plates of Tapas as long as you keep drinking. Its important to stay hydrated, especially with Sangria. ;) So you can quench your thirst after a long day walking in the humidity and get feed at the same time. Sort of like a 2 for 1 deal. |

It was fantastic! The tapas was amazing and I got to drink plenty of sangria to wash it down with.. all at a massive… Gorgeous Granada |

We had a small but tasty serve of fresh bread and manchego cheese and then continued our exploration of the village. The little paths and streets are either heading up or down (as in the Albaicin) so you need… Red, White and Yellow |

Granada is also home to free tapas (when you buy a drink). We love free food, so this is a bonus!!
We also walked ourselves around the Albayzin, which is an old district of Granada, previously populated by the Islamic, containing many beautiful ´carmen´ houses. It now seems… Granada |

A tapas and cerveceria (beer hall) off a back street. Looks like it´s more frequented by the locals. They maintain the old (and vanishing) tradition of serving a free tapas with your beer, so it was a cheap dinner for us!
It was paseo hour… Snow on a Saturday in Spain |
