Free parking worth a small walk Feb 27, 2008
Free parking can be tough to find during the summer season at the beach. However, there is one place that is always free and hase hundreds of parking spaces. The Virginia Beach Convention Center.

It's a 10 minute walk from the center to the beach, but you don't have to pay money for parking. It's free and always available.

Holidays are the worst ones. All free and paid spots are taken by the time you get there. This is especially true for 4th of July. I recommend you head straight for the center and park there. You will save time otherwise spent looking for parking spots, and parking in no-parking spots and getting towed.

If you're heading towards the beach (Oceanfornt) on I-264 East, you will see the center on your right at the end of the interstate. My personal favorite directions, go to the end of I-264 East. You know it's the end when you see your first traffic light. Make a right turn at that light. The center will be on your right side. The parking spaces are right in front of the center.

Enjoy freedom!
