111 K Ave, Kure Beach, NC, USA
Freddie's Reatsurant - A pair of Firehouse Chops...just give me some pork and a fork!
Freddie's Reatsurant - Freddie's Restaurant in Kure Beach - a winner!
Freddie's Reatsurant - The complimentary bread and oil is terrific! The menu quite extensive.
Freddie's Reatsurant - Freddie's is very small, I suggest making a reservation (or anticipating a long wait)

The Pork Chop Spot Mar 10, 2013
Freddie’s is yet another reason to love Kure Beach. The eatery opened in 1995 and while the theme is decidedly Italian, there is plenty of American fare to sample and the small bar exudes an Irish influence. Scanning the menu quickly confirms Italy is the main attraction, with plentiful pasta dishes and seafood selections featuring names such as Seafood Ravioli, Shrimp Scampi and Seafood Alfredo. But wait a minute, there’s also an entire section devoted to pork chops!

And quite frankly, the pork chops are what bring us back. This joint is renowned for its delectable “Freddie’s Special Pork Chop”, smothered in cherry peppers and finished with a yummy balsamic sauce. I’ve enjoyed the Special Chop several times, but during our most recent visit my wife and I both chowed down on the Firehouse Chop, a fantastic option generously dowsed in Freddie’s pizziola sauce and mozzarella cheese.

The pasta dishes are fairly standard and there is nothing exotic, but everything is freshly prepared and the sauces have been simmering for hours – execution is what makes for a memorable meal here. Completing the experience, the service is top shelf. All of the attendants are knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. The wine selection is quite nice and Freddie’s other reputation is for their killer martinis (friends recommend the Godiva Dark Chocolate Martini).

Freddie’s has limited seating and during tourist season this place is a mad house, so reservations are pretty much a necessity, unless you have the option of getting there early during the off season, which is what my wife and I did last Sunday evening. If you get to this area and bring an appetite, definitely drop in at Freddie’s!
