Fraser Island 4x4 Wonderland!! Dec 27, 2011
Alright, so if your heading to Australia, or even if you live in the country you have to check this place out! It is one of the most natural and beautiful Islands on earth.. It has massive freshwater Lakes that you cant see the bottom to and tonnes of untouched Scenery and places to discover! You can also meet the Native wildlife - The more famous Australian "Dingo" probably has a formidable reputation, but in reality is quite a cool animal. Years ago when i went here you could walk right up to them! But in more recent years they've become something you would stay away from, but if you leave them alone they will leave you alone! Although the nice cool Ocean may seem rather tempting try to stay out! Ive had sharks - not the friendly kind either! come up to me while fishing in 2ft of water! Speaking of fishing, Ive caught the largest fish Ive ever seen from places like Indian Head - North end of the Island - and a large variety too. The always Multicultural Australia is definitely true here! Particularly over Christmas time multi national games of volleyball are played - Always lots of fun and great way to meet people of all nationalities.. So all in all Fraser Island would be one of my favourite places to visit in Australia! Make sure its on your checklist as you pass the East Coast of Queensland!

Fraser Island, Australia Aug 19, 2011
Just north of Brisbane is the beautiful Fraser Island. Here you can have ample fun driving in a 4 * 4 over the sand dunes, having a swim in many of the crystal clear lakes and catching a few dingos roaming around. Austrailia is such a beautiful and vast country that there are so many places to visit but if you are travelling up the East coast then this is definitely a great place to spend a few days.

...if you are in australia - and travelling up (or down) the eastcoast, be sure to have 3 or even 5 days time for fraser island!!! Its situated between brisbane and's said to be the largest island made of sand in the world. Best thing to do is to take the barge to the island an drive there with your 4wd (if you dont have one - u can rent them in harvey bay). Barges leave from rainbow beach and harvey bay. It's an island that provides really everything you can imagine - lakes, rainforest, dunes, shipwrecks, .... I stayed there for 4 days. It's a good place and chance to get your 4wd to know. as whole fraser island is a national park (it's even a world heritage area), you have to get a permission to drive there. They are sold in harvey bay and rainbow beach as well. - and bring all your food, drinks and fuel with you, as shopping in the small stores on the island is very expensive and not everything you might need is sold there.if you don't want to hire or buy a car, there are also a lot of tours offered to explore the island.
driving on the beach - 70 mphs!
