Yet another early start as we were booked on a half day hike up the glacier. Really enjoyable and relaxed walk with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. If we'd had more money and time I think the heli-hike option would have been awesome …… Franz Josef to Wanaka |

Well I'm just in Franz Josef today. Just finished washing (again), and about to cook dinner. Facilities here are very nice - I paid a little more money for an ensuite to the dorm room. Though I'm battling the mozzie…… Pinch and a Punch |

After Wanaka I headed north to encounter the one of the much talked about glaciers on the west coast. To climb for a full day on the Franz Josef Glacier it cost about 130 NZ Dollars this included all the clothing, boots and footwear for the trip.
