Best Barbecue in Austin May 03, 2011
This place sells out everyday. My friend and I got here on a Friday and started waiting in line at 10:30am, it opens at 11am. Already there was a line forming and we were about 30th in the queue. Aaron Franklin started selling barbecue from a food trailer next to I-35, one of the major highways. It was and still is so popular that lines formed early and they would sell out shortly afterwards. So successful was this venture, that he moved into this brick and mortar location.

I ordered the Tipsy Texan, which is a sandwich with onions, coleslaw, chopped beef and sausage. I also ordered some brisket and pulled pork for later. The sandwich was delicious and I also had a small amount of brisket and pulled pork while it was hot. Everything handily trumped any bbq I have tasted so far in Austin.
The line, people after us.
Franklin himself.
