Frankfurt in Germany is very under estimated, people tend to see it as a the dowdy financial center of Germany! My first experience with Frankfurt was unpleasant(mainly because of travel mix ups) but I have since returned and loved it!!
Frankfurt is situated on the river Main(Frankfurt-am-Main)and is the Financial center for Germany.Frankfurt is sometimes known as "Mainhatten"as a result of its impressive skyline! Frankfurt is extremely easy to navigate using the cities S-Bahn and U-Bahn transport systems. A big must in Frankfurt is to visit the amazing zoo, which you can reach on the U-Bahn!Frankfurt Zoo is huge, and houses a wide varity of species, the only down fall was that I personally thought the Gorillas were in enclosures that were too small! A great way to cool off in high summer is to travel out to some of the huge outdoor swimming pools that are dotted on the out-skirts of the city(bus is the best way here)! Another high-light in this city is the Romer Platz, which is like a town square with all the old buildings,town-hall...this is the best place to sample some traditional german grub...watch the portion sizes they are huge you won't be left hungry! A great way to finish an evening of sight-seeing is to take a boat trip on the River Main, you can't beat seeing all the skyscrapers lit up at night, while having a relaxing beer!
