Our final stop in Europe. One week, alot of miles and plenty of memories later, we were on our way home. But Keoni and I would be back the following year with Dave and Floyd, two other of our co-workers who were newbies to Europe.  Until then, then....

Wow, what a f’ing day. Seriously I’ll break it up into two parts.Arrival and the meetingLost and foundI arrived at around 8:30am in Frankfurt, Germany, the small little airport that Ryan Air uses. From there I hoped a bus to the main airport, Hahn I believe it is called to meet my friend Tracy. They have this meeting spot at the airport so we have made plans to meet there. Only thing is we planned at meeting at 11 and it wasn’t till 12 that I arrived. Tracy is a first timer so I was afr…

Arrival in Frankfurt am Main
posted by:
Nov 18, 1992 - Dec 02, 1992
Started out this morning from Kitzingen to Wurzburg, then took the E-43 to Kist. From Kist you connect to the E-41 which crosses the low mountains over to Aschaffenburg. After you pass over the Main river in Aschaffenburg,  you connect with the E-42 down into Frankfurt am Main. After you swirl around the tangle of roads surrounding downtown Frankfurt, you find yourself heading south toward the only large dot on the map south of this mess--Darmstat. If you can man…

On my way to Chicago
posted by:
Jul 14, 2006 - Jul 18, 2006
Not even arrived but it has happened a lot already! Getting up at 4.00 in the morning isn't the easiest thing to do for me. However, I had to get ready to catch my flight to Chicago. When my alarm clock rang I just had slept for 2 ½ hours. I wanted to go to bed early but everything went into another direction. I spent half the evening in the beer garden, drunk too much beer, went back home, caought up with my Greek neighbour, talked with him for ages and finally went to bed at…

I really liked Frankfurt, I'm a sucker for cities with skylines. Micha's brother Dennis gave us the tour of the city since he lived nearby in Offenbach. The station there is also really impressive, you can see the skyscrapers all around. They are built in such a way that when you walk around, the view completely changes, it's only from the river that the skyscrapers look like they're in a line. I wish we had more time to explore the city.

Enjoying the simple pleasures
posted by:

It's amazing how much joy can be derived from the contents of one's long lost suitcase.  While my makeup bag and I shared a happy reunion, my lined winter boots, nearly danced a jig while waiting to be placed upon my feet.  I hadn't been so relieved to see my personal belongings since I found my missing debit card in the back pocket of my jeans.  When we returned to our hotel the previous evening we were pleasantly surprised to find our…

Day 1 - Flight to Japan
posted by:
Sep 01, 2007 - Sep 23, 2007
In September 2007 i realised one of my dreams. I visited Japan. It was more then I expected and a lot more, than I dared to hope it would be. Going from Tokyo to Hakone, later to Miyajima and then Kyoto with our last stop after 3 weeks in Osaka. It was really a dream coming true. Even with a typhoon hitting us and temperatures worth for a desert in summer.
