Frankenmuth Brewery Reviews
Nice brewery, surprisngly good. Feb 14, 2010
I was pleasantly surprised. We had been here before but it had a different owner at the time. This is a good place for families too, children are very welcome as it is more of a restaurant than bar. I think the prices were average for this type of food, which is good for this tourist area.
They brew 6 different beers here, plus 2 seasonal flavors.
I tried 2 beers,
Red Sky Ale - which I liked very much and is the usual type of beer that I drink.
This malt-focused beer uses roasted barley to give it its robust red color and roasted taste with subtle caramel notes for a clean taste and a dry finish.
ABV 5.25% IBU 23
Frankenmuth Pilsner - which is his usual style of beer.
A time-honored German style pilsener, this definitive golden lager is made following the traditional German purity law; using only malted barley, water, German hops and German lager yeast. A great beer with a floral aroma, a hint of spices & a dry finish.
ABV 5.25% IBU 26
We also had pretzel bread, a ham & bean soup that Doug though was very different and a good choice for him.
I had the bratwurst, with sauerkraut and mustard and onion rings. The bratwurst was excellent! The onion rings, although fresh made were good, but seemed soggy. The taste was good, I just wish they were crispier.
Overall, I would say this is a good choice if you are ever in Frankenmuth and don't want to eat chicken.
