Amanda and I met up with Scott and Beth at the Louvre restaurants to grab some dinner and plan out the rest of our evening. Beth and I split a pretty fantastic Moroccan meal--lamb, couscous, salad, vegetables, mint tea--pretty good for cafeteria-style food!We were leaving Paris early the next morning, so we decided to purchase our tickets to Interlaken the day before. Earlier in the day Amanda and I stopped at the train station to check out prices, and it turned out the trip we had planned wa…

It was the first day of the tour to really get a sleep in and of course, my phone was ringing at 7am!! I tried to go back to sleep and eventually got out of bed at 9.30am. Bree and I were planning to meet up with Liz and Julia and spend some time at the beach.
We met the girls at 10.30am and slowing made our way down the beach. We stopped to window shop and look around, and it was lunch time before we knew it. We decided to have MacDonalds as it was the easiest thing at the…

My girlfriend and I had booked a little get-away to the north of France through a website called weekendcompany.be. Our package included 2 nights at the Chateau Tilques, breakfast and a 3 course meal on the night of arrival. Since this was so cheap, we figured we'd probably end up having to sleep in the stables or something, but boy, were we wrong.
We left on saturday morning and since this was the National Holiday weekend here in Belgium, we wanted to avoid the roads to the coast. We f…

This is just a quickie entry for a start. I'm waiting for John to drop off his laptop while I'm using the computer at an internet cafe down the street from our hotel (It's about 3.90 euro for an hour, 10 euros for 3 hours). We drove into Nice from Paris last night. The drive wasn't bad at all, except for getting lost in the city of Paris, getting lost in some city outside of Paris, trying to find parking in Lyon and then trying to find parking in Nice so we could get to our hotel.Today our pl…

We're heading back to France, this time to Normandy! Coming on this trip (aside from myself) are my mom, my aunt, my mom's best friend, 2 of her choirmates, 2 of my friends, and possibly 2 of my cousins. We will be staying in Paris, Mandeville-en-Bessin in Calvados, and St Leonard in Seine-Maritime.

I studied at Oxford in 1996 on climate change and its effect on Great Britain and the rest of the world. Environmental Crisis and Management. We visited the Irish Coast line, bogs, Stonehendge, Snowdonia National Park, Wales.
The group I was went visited Dublin, Scotland, and Paris for Bastille weekend. I met up with a friend after the program and we went to Italy, Spain, and then back to France. It was a wonderful summer

Paris is so Cliche, but at the same time so perfect. I found the most peace and calm of my life just walking the streets by the river. Notre Dame is not just a tourist attraction. It is a feeling and spiritual experience. I think that I could learn to love Paris. If I could, I'd live and work there...
