This morning I woke up around 8:30. Jeremy had to work for a few hours so after I took a shower, I went to counquer the city on my own. I started out again at the Eiffel Tower and then walked down the Champs Elysees all the way to the Place de la Concorde and then down to the Louvre. Then I walked over to Notre Dame. I took my time taking in all that Paris had to offer me. Experiencing the city at the age of 16 is totally different now that I am 25. I notice the people, locals a…

We spent 3 days at Montpellier, in France. I love this city, I spent a lot of my holidays there and the near beaches (Palavas-Les-Flots, La Grande-Motte, Frontignan, Marseillan-Plage, Le Grau du Roi...)

Our last day. Everything went so fast... Packing our bags and enjoying our last day.
The first day it was raining, the second day there was wind and at our last day.. there was sun!! Lots of sun! YEAH!
After a late breakfast we went to the district Le Marais. By accidental we saw a market. Much of fresh fish, cheese and fruit. Really nice to see. And not much tourists. Le Marais is a Jewish neighbourhood. Nice parks to relax. At the market we had bought some cheese and Jewish bread. Jammie…

We woke up at the ungodly hour of 4:45am because our train was at 6:05am. Luckily our room was right near the tunnel to the train station, so we could get there quickly. Our train would take us to Genoa, where we would then have to transfer to a train to Nice. We got to the train station and caught up with the Kiwi's we met a few days ago. We slept most of the way and finally arrived in Nice around noon. Michelle warned me, "Your first impression of Nice i…

Paris has always been a great mystery to me. Every occasion I got to go there, it revealed to me a little bit of some new secret. Every time, it was a unique expecrience, profoundly personal. I couldn't stop observing every corner and feeling things in a different way. I took example from those parisian women, effortlessly elegant and sedutive, yet never lacking boldness. Or those parisian men, unafraid to personnify the word "goodlooking" or "distinguished". I could …

I'm sooo sad! It's our last true day on vacation, I don't want to go home!
We woke up today and went to one of the little bakerys by Meghan's place and got yummy yummy food, God I'm going to miss the food here! after that we jumped the train and headed over to walk along the Seine. First we went over to check out Sainte Chapelle. It's pretty...um, yeah. Not too much say, we didn't go in or anything.
After that we walked and went to some of the little souviner stalls and got a few littl…

Today was Sunday, but it started out with class! Again in the bar. I'm not going to lie- staying awake was torture today as the extreme days and little sleep was catching up with me. But after class, I went with a few other guys to mass at Notre Dame. That's right, Notre Dame! I can't believe it myself! Being a Catholic, I cannot describe what an unbelievable experience that was for me. Aside from the Vatican, it is probably one the most ideal place to attend mass. However, it was interesting…

It started as just a little thought that sounded like a good idea. "Take a trip to Europe by yourself" Then it became a reality, shown here is the reality!

It was a nearly 100-meter-high cliff, with perpendicular sides jutting out into the Channel. It looked down on Utah Beach to the left and Omaha Beach to the right. There were six 155mm cannon in heavily reinforced concrete bunkers that were capable of hitting either beach with their big shells. On the outermost edge of the cliff, the Germans had an elaborate, well-protected outpost, where the spotters had a perfect view and could call back coordinates to the gunners at the 155s. Those guns ha…

Bonjour du Paris! OK, the Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2 is really cool. Alot of brown wood was used not too splashy like JFK Terminal 1. But has an 'eco-green' feel to it, very earthy and sub-dued. My friend Dalinda picked me up, Yay. I wasn't in the mood to think at 7 am, to use the Metro and all the details. She still looked the same - exotic pretty (born in Morocco but lived in Paris most her life) & wild curly hair. I loved hear…

We awoke early to get a good start on the shops - we did not have a great deal of time so we hit the department stores before winding our way through a few of the other shops on the streets of Paris. There was a lot of searching for the right thing but not a lot of purchasing - im not sure how that happened but it always seems the way that when you look for something specific you seem not to find it so easy. But alas it was fun whilst it lasted and we happliy made our way to Gare Lyon to boar…
