A very interesting trip going it alone, with a few small mishaps... but everything worked out fine in the end. Met a lot of nice people in all places traveled, kept meeting people from London in practically all of my destinations... everyone was friendly and everyone was usually very friendly and willing to help. I would definately recommend staying more nights in each destination than I did, but it ws still exciting to move at that pace too.

It started as just a little thought that sounded like a good idea. "Take a trip to Europe by yourself" Then it became a reality, shown here is the reality!

After the long ride for 1X hrs from home, I arrived Paris at late night!!!Europe is always my dream place and finally I've made it to go there!!!!So on the next early morning, we took several hours train and headed to Mont Saint Michel. It used to be one of the 7 miracles in the world in the old day, because of its mysterical feature of this isolated mount that reveals at low tide but "immerses" at high tide within a day. So I did pay a high expectation...

July 21 - Paris Plage. This is set up outside Hôtel de Ville and along the banks of the Seine. They bring in lots of sand and volleyball nets, and people can go pretend they're at the beach. Great fun.July 26 - My roommate Amanda's birthday. We went out to dinner to celebrate, then took her to the Latin Bar, in the Latin Quarter. The bar's tagline is "A sexy bar for a sexy night," and it has shirtless (very attractive) waiters and bras hanging from the ceiling.&...

On the 27th we were scheduled to return to Canada so we enjoyed a relaxing day in Maisons-Alfort packing and walking along the Marne and through the town. We watched the barge traffic on the river as it ascended and descended through a set of locks near the confluence with the Seine. The Marne is an important part of the water transport network that operates as it has since the 1820's. We were amazed that here in Fance we had no hesitation in leaving our cars behind and using public transit

First day on the boat wasn’t pleasant. I was ill (sea-sickness). What was I thinking when I booked this sailing trip.

It was a nice thursday in july 2007. I was chatting with a friend of mine about places we would ever want to visit before we die.
All kind of places came up: Full Moon party in Thailand, guiding sheep on a horse in Australia, learn to skate on the boulevard of Miami, see the piramids in Egypt and ofcourse... you must go to Paris before you die!
Thursday night we went on the internet, saw very cheap bustickets to Paris for the next morning and booked right away. The next morning we had to wa...

We've all been there...tired, travel worn, late in the evening with no place to sleep and no plan whatsoever. I had spent the day exploring Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary and was so captivated by the gravity of the place that I'd given precious little thought to where I would stay for the evening. The thought of guys slogging through the surf against a hail of MG-42 machine gun fire... of them laying up against the sea wall next to their dead buddy and then mustering courag...
