Je suis arrivée!

Today is my last day in Paris and as planned I'm visiting the Louvre.  It's a HUGE museum so I decided to start early.   I've passed by it the week before so I've pretty much already admired the pyramid and the Jardin des Tuileries.  I have a strategy.  First, I de-stressed by reminding myself that it's impossible to see everything even if I spent the whole day here!  Or according to my book, a whole life time will not be enough. With an imaginary drum roll, I hel...

Fly like an Eagle
posted by:
Jan 19, 2008 - Jan 22, 2008
Every year, I go skiing with a group of friends. The group varies a bit in number and names but there is a hardcore group of six, five guys and a girl. This year there are seven of us; one of the guys brought his girlfriend along. Normally we all drive to whatever destination, but this year there were not enough cars. One of the buddies and I needed alternative transportation. After scrutinizing all of our options (train, car rental and so on) we decided on flying to the airport closes...

Day two. My first sunrise for six months
posted by:
Dec 25, 2007 - Jan 02, 2008
Before heading to Switzerland, we had to make a stop by my house first. My wife had a birthday coming up while we were in Switzerland and I needed to get my gift for her. It had proved to be impossible to prepare, wrap and store the gift without my wife noticing, so I postponed that to the very last minute. Now that she was out of my way (so to speak), I finally had the time to gift-wrap and write a card to go with the present.   That being done, we headed out once more, bu...

Paris, France -› -› ...
I have to confess, that this was my goal in Paris. I'm not a big fan of the Eiffel Tower like my travel buddy Pesta, but I really enjoy museums. And Louvre is not just some museum. It's THE MUSEUM. A heaven for all people intrested in art, history, myths and culture. That's why Basia (Short from Barbara) didn't come with us. She doesn't fell the atmosphere of this historical crap. She decided to spend time on her own watching some buildings (btw, she didn't know who Charles de Gaulle was...

Paris, the city that needs no introduction. Who doesn't know the Eifeltower, the Arc de Triomph, Montmartre and Qaurtier Latin? Paris… What can I say that has not already been said by thousands? The answer to that question I do not know. All I know is one thing; when I'm in Paris, it feels like being home. I absolutely love Paris. Its smell on a Sunday morning, its cramped terraces with the tiny tables and wobbly chairs, its taxi drivers who throw lavish gestures at you wi...

St.Tropez

The fishing village resort St. Tropez...nowadays is most popular for the line luxury yacths in the harbour and the facing line of terrace cafes, divided by a parade of strolling tourists and slowly sports cars. Enjoyed strolling in the town with a picturesque old town boasting winding medieval streets. People watching is the favourite sport in St. Tropez.....visitors like to sit in the outdoor cafes hoping either to be seen or to see someone else :)

Paris here we come!!

This day was out last in Paris. We would wave goodbye to this city, a city that opened my eyes to my own fear and prejudices and welcomed me in. Wow. We really just left this day for filler. To walk around and enjoy without the hustle and bustle of getting somewhere. One thing I had to do was to visit Jim Morrison's gravesite. It might be cliche and touristy but my dad as a fan and it would make him happy. Hell I'm a fan and it made me happy. We took the metro over. It really wasn't far from ...

In France

I made it across the channel to France last night, slept most of the way.  It was rough seas but I didnt mind it.  It was dark when we got in so I didnt see much of the coast line, like I wanted to.  There was no one on this huge ferry, I saw only about 20 persons walking around.  Got in about 11pm and the little town by the ferry port was dead.  I eventually found a little B&B and stayed there last night.  Today the weather was crazy, very strong w...

If you enjoy outdoor activities and is a great nature and mountains fan, you should not give Chamonix a miss! The mountain scenery surpasses one’s wildest expectation and the hiking trails through the alpine pastures offer superb views of the Chamonix valley, the Mont Blanc range, Aiguilles Rouges mountains and neighbouring Switzerland. Our hikes were always rewarded with the panoramic view of the mountains, glaciers and valleys. Not only that, it was the berry season and I had a fantastic...

Lille is the 10th largest city in France with its 220.000 inhabitants in the city center and counting the suburbs the total population amounts to 1.2 millions where of 100.000 are students. Every year 400.000 tourist visit this citys tourist office and today I was one of them. Lille has got a vey nice historic centre, with old houses and mansions that look like those of Brussels or Amsterdam.   The city...

Paris, France Tour 2008

Europe, a continent which I’ve been dreaming of to step into since childhood and France, the most wanted destination to be visited by tourists, I didn’t expect to visit Paris as soon as I’m still in college. But I’ve done it; I’ve visited Paris, the land of love. It was perhaps one of my most memorable experiences I’ve ever had in my life. It’s a dream come true! From the time that we are having meetings about the tour, I’ve been so excited to step i...

I will miss Paris and my adventures but I really miss home. I miss my bed and all my stuff. I miss my cell phone, my car and even my job. Last night was just really chill. Alone in Paris: Paris Travel Photos
posted by:
Nov 27, 2006 - Nov 29, 2006
I've always imagined that my first trip to Paris would be with my future husband on our honeymoon. I have pictured the two of us holding hands walking by the Eiffel Tower, saying cheesy lines to each other, marvelling at the sights, and buying crepes and croissants from every patisserie we find along the way.  After all, Paris is all about love and romance (and food) right? But apparently, I have this patience problem and just couldn't wait for that, so last November 2006, I d...
