Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay Reviews
Expensive paradise Jun 11, 2010
The Four Seasons hotel chain has a name to keep up. We selected the Four Seasons at Jimbaran Bay while there's a second Four Seasons on Bali at Sayan, but Jimbaran's location is on a bay near the airport.
Actually you can see the airport at the other side of the bay, but luckily you don't hear the airplanes.
The Four Seasons resort is a well guarded secluded area, which you can't just enter by car. Unfortunately Bali has build up a bad name in the recent past, so security is a must near Kuta. Cars (in our case taxi) are thoroughly examinated, before you can drive to the reception.
The reception is very professional and you're looked after as a king the moment you arrive. There are many golf cars driving around (free pick-ups around the entire resort!), so you don't need to carry your luggage. The small cars take you and your luggage to your private villa. For us it took 100 meters to get to our villa...
The villa's are situated in a beautifully maintained park with all kinds of surprising area's. There are a few restaurants, a openair theater, common swimming pools and a beach.
The Balinese spa of Four Seasons Jimbaran is world famous. It's expensive but a must. Wow, it was great!
For the romantics (as we are) there is a gorgeous hilltop pavillion where you can have a private dinner overlooking the bay and served by your own host. Just the two of us enjoying a great dinner while the sun is vanishing in the ocean.
The view over the bay is superb. We rented an ocean view villa, which I can recommend for its lovely view.
The villa has a private entrance in a Balinese style. A path leads to the pavillions. The living pavillion is open and under the roof is a lounge corner and a breakfast corner.
Breakfast was served by two traditional dressed Balinese servants. You can order breakfast by phone and pick so much different things from the extensive breakfast menu, that it is hard to choose.
Enjoying breakfast is the right word. And while you do this you have a beautiful view over the bay.
Next to the open living pavillion is your private swimming pool, from which the same view can be admired. There's a small garden aside the pool and a relaxing terrace with sun chairs.
The main building of the villa houses a beautiful bedroom with writing-desk, Bose surround system and sliding-doors to the terrace.
A corridor with enough space to pack away a sultan's luggage connects the bedroom with a room in which a flower filled bath is the prominent feature. On the side of this part of the bathroom are two wash-stands with big mirrors and an opening to a huge walk0in rainshower.
To complete the mansion there's a small garden at the back of the villa, which can be reached via the bathroom. In this garden you can take a shower in open air, but fully private.
