Fort Point State Park Stockton Springs Reviews
Beach scenery Apr 08, 2008
If you happen to be driving along US Route 1 in Stockton Springs between Memorial Day and Labor Day take the small detour and follow the sign to Fort Point State Park. Full of biking and walking trails and spotted with picnic areas with grills this hidden little gem overlooks the Penobscot River. At low tide you can walk along the tidal sand bar that jets out into the river, and finding along the way an assortment of razor clams, mussels, and sea urchins you may also notice a harbor seal or two swimming near bye. The park has a 200 foot pier which you can fish off of or if you prefer to arrive at the park by boat it is accessible to everyone. The historic lighthouse that calls this place home sets a beautiful scene on top the rocky bluffs and tours start a 9am. In the winter the trails are used by cross country skiers. No matter what your into biking, fishing, walking, painting, photography,
Fort Point State Park has it. It is also pet friendly you just have to keep them on a leash.
