Fort Bonifacio Overview

Fort Bonifacio is now known as Bonifacio Global City (BGC), after the sale of military land by the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA)in the 1990s. Much of the land is what used to be the headquarters of the Philippine Army.

It is a commercial residential district known for its high end condominiums, 3 shopping malls (a fourth one to be added in 2013), as well as 3 more five star hotels in the mid-future. As a growing central business district (CBD), BGC will house the future Philippine Stock Exchange headquarters.

The area is well planned and there are lots of greenery amidst the high rises. One can often see families bringing their pets to the upscale shopping district of Bonifacio High Street, or yuppies partying at the numerous bars in the Fort Strip area.
