Fort Beauséjour ... a National Historic Site in New Brunswick Aug 10, 2008
Fort Beauséjour is a historical site that allows you to appreciate the present with the many wars of the past to make Canada what it is today. In seeing many places in the east in celebration of our tenth anniversary, we tried to experience and see as much as we could, 5 yrs ago, to experience the way of life, people, surroundings, the past, landmarks, and the outdoors. Hubby Dan is fascinated with canons, ships, aircraft, bombs, barrels, forts, etc. that has to do with war ... so as soon as he saw a brouchure with Fort Beauséjour he insisted we fit that into our 'tight' schedule, having the opportunity to visit this site ... I loved looking at how ships were built back then ... they have many different models of the past ... so if you like this sort of thing this museum is for you!!!!
Fort Beauséjour – Fort Cumberland National Historic Site was founded in 1926 and recalls an era when European imperial forces struggled for control of colonial lands in eastern North America. Sweeping vistas of the surrounding marshlands can be seen from the site and the winds that sweep the landscape whisper echoes of the area's colourful historic past.
At Fort Beauséjour National Historic Site, you will step back in time to an era when England and France were caught up in a tug-of-war for supremacy in Acadia. You will also learn about the origins and history of the area's inhabitants (http://www.pc.gc.ca/lhn-nhs/nb/beausejour/natcul/index_E.asp)
