Local hostelry 'Formerly the Blackball Hilton' was founded in 1910, as the Dominion Hotel, named after the mine manager, after whom the town's main street is also named. It was forced to change its name after objections from the international hotel chain of the same name.

The hotel is a special place. The rooms are small, but they have very high ceilings. The beds are quite comfortable. The bathrooms are also small and they are for men and woman. So good for a talk :)
There is also a large library you can go through.

The food is to die for. Everything is done from scratch. When I was there we had a buffet in the evening. There was enough food for everybody and if you wanted something else, they are willing to prepare that for you.
Breakfast in the morning was equally outstanding. What can I say more.
If you want to try a pub in New Zealand, try this one. You will not be disappointed. You will meet Jane and here team and you don't want to go to bed in the evening. And they sell there own T-shirts!
Overall: a perfect place to be. Not crouded, the town has only 370 inhabitants and a few tourists.
