Forks Overview

Forks is a small town in the relatively remote area of the Olympic peninsula of Washington State originally settled to support the timber industry in the area. Now with a population just under 4,000 as of the 2010 census the town has experienced tourism growth and notoriety as the subject of the highly popular vampire themed “Twilight” novel and later novel series. The town now offers a Twilight theme visitor center, Twilight themed points of interest, and local Twilight tours.

Unrelated to Twilight, the area is also a popular tourism destination for hikers visiting the expansive Olympic National Park and Hoh Rainforest, sports fisherman, as well as historical timber industry sites and museum.
