If you´re on your way to Venezuela, ´bring US dollars or Euros.
Why? Right now the official exchange rate is... 2000 bolivars per dollar. If you take your crisp dollar bills down to the plaza in front of the Telerifico, the black market money changers will give you 4000 bolivars. So, bring your own bolivars and you`ll end up paying twice as much for your Venezuelan experience! Yes, it is money laundering. No, its not your fault. Yes, you should take advantage. |
