Food at the beach in Manta
Food at the beach in Manta Reviews
Food you will find at the beach in Manta Sep 11, 2009
If you go to the beach in Manta, but didn't take any snacks with you, don't worry. There are some vendors with different kind of snacks, so you won't be hungry. Just be sure, what you'd like to have.
Here's a list of the food you'd be able to find there:
-Corviche: this is made of fish. Like a pastry, fried. It doesn't have much flavor, so it's a good idea to ask for "aji" spicy dipping sauce. Usually a guy carries a big container with them.
-Maduro: fried green plantain. It's sweet and can be a bit oily. You'll see vendors with containers having them.
-Pan de almidon & pan de maiz: starch & corn breads. The starch one is white and doesn't have much flavor, sort of plain. The corn one is yellow/golden and it's a bit sweet. They are usually warm. Sold in baskets or containers.
-Mango: that was a big surprise! For me the mango is usually sweet, but not this one. They are sold in small plastic bags and when you buy it, they will offer you salt (?) Well, the mango is very sour. So it might go along with the salt... You will find some fruit vendors offering them. Not my favorite
-Coco Helado: coconut water. Ask for it to the fruit vendors.
And to drink, you can find beer and sodas. And everything is cheap.
