Fontana Bad Nieuweschans Reviews
Fontana Bad Nieuweschans Jul 31, 2011
If you are in need for some hours of pure relaxing Fontana is the place to go.
It's open 7 days a week from 9 a. m. to 11 p. m. and offers all facilities for pure relaxation and health.
First of all the thermal bath. The spring water from Fontana Bad Nieuweschans originates from a depth of 600 metres and is the basis of the health spa resort Fontana Bad Nieuweschans. In the source, the water has a temperature of 29°C and it cools down to 22,6°C during the pumping process. The wholesome water is heated up to 36 degrees in a thermal bath for total relaxation. The thermal spring water is rich in minerals such as salt, iodine, magnesium and bromide. 2 massage streets and 2 jacuzzi tubs invites you to relax. A bath of approx. 30 minutes is recommended.
After the bath you should rest. You can do that either in a special relaxing room with a saline or in the lavender chamber (I prefer that).
Additional to the thermal bath they have a huge sauna area. Besides the traditional Finnish saunas of 95 and 85 degrees, they offer the infra-red sauna. This sauna is especially for people who do not like damp and enclosed rooms, but do want to enjoy the pleasant warmth. Further you will find a Turkish steam-bath, a scrub-salt corner and two individual herbal bubble-baths. You can even take dive in the Balneo bath of 32 degrees with jetstream. Naturally, a warm foot-bath, a cold plunge-bath and a sauna-garden with log-cabin sauna are also available.
In the sheltered sauna-garden you can cool-off in the fresh air in the winter. In the summertime you can relax on the sunny terrace.
A fitness room, hairdresser, massage studio, solarium, brasserie and a park completes its offers.
The Spa is also a recreation resort but since I live close I never stayed over night. So I can't say anything about the shape and quality of the hotel and restaurant.
Here and now we spend a whole day there and we drive home younger than ever ;)
They have special offers during the seasons. Please check their homepage for that.
The prices for a daypass are:
Thermal bath only (including Lavender chamber): € 11.75 (monday - friday); € 13.00 on saturday, sunday and bank holidays
Thermal bath plus sauna: € 23.50 (monday - friday); € 25.50 on saturday, sunday and bank holidays
Note: I downloaded the photos from the internet.
