Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve is a great place to venture with the kids for a day trip. In addition to renting equipment to go snorkeling ($10-15) to see the coral reefs and swim in the beautiful and tranquil waters of Barbados’ West Coast, there is an eco-museum (a small fee to enter), shaded picnic area with lots of tables, tennis courts, children’s playground for all to enjoy, along with a marine life information center. Enthusiastic divers can venture out to see the wreck of a 365ft Greek freighter, the SS Stavronikita. Yes, there is a Lifeguard station with life guards on duty. Admission to Folkestone Park and Marine Reserve is free. Go and enjoy when you're in Barbados!
