Fogo de Chao

The meat at this Brazilian Steakhouse is to die for. You pay a fixed price and can then try everything on the menu or stick to your favorites. Basically, the way the restaurant works is, you’re given a card. One side is green and the other is red. Flipping the card back and forth lets the server know if they should bring you more food. If the green side of your card is facing upward, Gaucho chefs will bring skewers of prime meat to your table. You can either say ‘yes I’d like some of that’ or ‘no that’s not the meat I want, bring me another kind.’ Warm cheese bread, fried bananas, polenta and mashed potatoes are brought to each table. There’s also a salad bar you can help yourself to, so you’re not only eating meat. The food at Fogo de Chao is pricey, but worth it. It’s a great spot to celebrate a special occasion or have a romantic date night. This is not a good location for vegans or vegetarians, since the bulk of the menu is meat. The atmosphere is trendy, so dress up.
