Ecelectic, artsy, fabulous, comfortable...And great teas.... Mar 25, 2013
Nestled down a small alley, this café's only draw-back is the location. A little off the beaten track, but still in the city centre, it requires a little effort to find. I promise you its worth it.

From the outside, you can already guess the thought behind its amazing interior just by looking at the bright tiles over the door, and the parasols shading you from the sun as you gossip in the summer.

Step inside and you will think you are in an art gallery or a kind of thrift store. There is all kinds of weird and wonderful ornaments, candleholders and chintzy cups on the tables, ceilings littered with paper chains in all kinds of shapes ( I like the palm trees best ) and strange shaped and coloured lampshades clashing wonderfully with each other. My favourite part is the upstairs because its sofa land. I mean sofas everywhere standing on gorgeous rugs and littered with an eclectic mix of cushions - one could easily drift off to sleep, listening to the brilliant choice of music whilst reclining in soft cushions. No, I'm not exaggerating. Its the most comfortable café I've ever been.

So lets get to the beverages. A pot of tea costs around 2.50e, small but you get around 3 medium sized cups out of it. You can choose from all kinds of teas such as lemon and ginger, chai, white tea with vanilla, raspberry leaf, sage and fennel - I personally like the apple and ginger tea the best. They have a wonderful selection of mouth-watering cakes and delicious lunches (salads, pizzas and tapas etc.)

The last thing I will say is check out the toilets. Each one has a different design - in the sea themed cubicle, I found a blue toilet seat with yellow plastic fish, a huge old clock and the walls covered in old map wall paper, another cubicle was done out in animal print.... crazy but fabulous !!

Ill be back soon to add more pictures...

Foam Cafe would be a great place to go on a first date! It's cool, kooky, colourful and relaxed.

Located in the heart of Dublin city centre it is an ideal place to contemplate away an evening with a friend over a steaming hot pot of tea, drinking it from colourful, antique-style china. The cafe is decorated as if a child was allowed to run amuck, but it has a mature feel to it. Art books litter the tables, plastic flowers dominate the walls. Colour colour colour!

The couches are comfortable! It is a bit expensive but well worth it especially if you plan on staying there for hours.
