Flying Horse Ferry Reviews

Jul 14, 2007
This is one of the half dozen or so companies that do ferry service between stone town and dar es salaam. The day boat charges 25 USD for VIP class accomodations. Very nice chairs, in a A/C'd room, a few budget travelers and other more affluent patrons are here. There is also 1st, 2nd and 3rd class. 1st is perfectly nice, not as secluded, and actually easier to strike up a conversation with locals and a few budget travelers. 2nd class kind of reminded me of a Taxi ride or a bus ride, pretty crowded, most people didn't speak English, so no one to really talk to. 3rd Class was on the top deck, plastic bolted chairs, nice place for photos, but the heat and humidity make it trying. There is also a fast ferry (1 hr) and a night ferry.
