There is really no good reason why I'm still awake, except that, if you can even believe it -- my sleeping patterns have gotten worse. It's pitiful really, but I actually get paid a good chunck of money and I get to sleep late Monday - Friday. Fairly late on Saturday and Sunday too, actually. I think I might have just fallen into my lucky day. I have never minded working -- in fact, I kind of thrive on it -- but I have never liked the getting up early part . Theatre hours are golden, no matte…

I completed my second tandum jump today. My instructor was Manny. We left the plane in style with a backflip out the door. The weather had a biigger part to do with the jump today. There was a few thunderstorms a few miles away, making it a little more windy than last time. Coming down we went thru the clouds, you could feel the water droplets on your face...cool!! It was a good jump with another perfect landing sliding across the grass on our …

For now, this is first the entry of this blog dedicated to my favorite canines. Hopefully, I can find more photos, but for now I'll introduce Martin and Marney. Marney was my sister's dog that she got shortly after picking Martin up at animal shelter in Florida. Martin is a 15+ year old Black Lab mix. Veterinarians and many other people have guessed what he's mixed with, but no one knows for sure and I'm fine with that because whatever the mix is, he's the best dog ever. :) My gue…

Took another trip to Disney. When in Florida in the summer months you must be prepared with a PONCHO!!!! I arrived at the Magic Kingdom around 2:00pm. The rain, thunder, and lightning was amazing. It eased up on my tram ride in. I headed over on the Ferry Boat. They had closed the Monorail because of the weather. I stop on Main Street and bought my passholder pin and headed over to Adventureland and rode The Jungle Cruise. Always a great …

This is really Seagrove beach and unless you like spending lots of money for very little space in Seaside it is a great alternative. there are beautiful beaches all over the world but it always nice to discover or in my case rediscover the ones closer to home. THis is the first time I have been back since Katrina and I was plesantly surprised. There is still sand, the great restaurants are still there and unfortunatly there are still jelly fish in the sea!. But that is what pools were invente…

Overall, I really enjoyed this trip. It was a much-needed one to scratch that travel itch for a little while. The fact I can say I went to Chicago for my 22nd Birthday just for lunch adds to the kind of person I am " spontaneous and one of a kind ideas. I know most people fly some where for lunch, but doing it this way I turned my once a year day into a nice five day trip. To top it off, the trip felt longer then it actually was. I felt like I was …

I'm so excited and ready to go to Yellowstone, Wyoming. Today I bought me a good pair of all weather hiking boots, socks, an awesome jacket(it's red and black), and another piece of luggage. I did not want to check any luggage but with the sweaters and jeans I had no choice. My sister bought herself a nice pair of hiking boots and socks too. If you are ever in Pinellas Park visit Bill Jackson's Sports. They have everything you need for the great outdoors along with some fantastic custome…

A quick stop on 3-25-08!! The 1st 6 are new!
Decided to take a short trip to the Manatee viewing center in Apollo Beach today.
I am adverse to talking the Interstate so we took the long way down Hwy 41, this made the trip there in about 18 minutes instead of the 11 by I-75.
The Tampa Electric manatee viewing center is just south of Tampa Electric’s 1492 acre power plant s with combined 1800 megawatts output.
The reason the manatees like Big Bend so much is w…

We had one more day to kill and decided that laying at my sister in laws pool all day got old. So we decided to head to Orlando to check out another theme park. On our last visit we had already seen "Universal" so we decided to go for something different this time. In the back of my head I was already settled on going to "Magic Kingdom" because of the "Pirates of the caribbean" ride. My favorite movies so I just had to see that. Which turned out to be a not so smart decision on my end. Hubby …

The first tower in St. Augustine was built by the Spanish in the late 1500's to function as a watchtower, not as a lighthouse. The tower was replaced by a building that was built, rebuilt and enlarged over the next 200 years by the Spanish. In 1821 Florida became a U.S. territroy. In 1824 a lens was installed by the U.S. Goverment, making it Florida's first offical lighthouse. This first St. Augustine lighthouse eventually collapsed from erosion by the sea in the 1880.
