The Celebration of the New Year's is said to be the Oldest of all TravBuddy Holidays in the World. First observed in an ancient Babylon Meet-Up about 4012 years ago. In the years around 2000 BC, the Babylonian New Year began with the first New Moon (actually the first visible crescent) after the Vernal Equinox (first day of spring). The beginning of spring is a logical time to start a new year. After all, it is the season of Rebirth, of planting new crops, and of blossomi…

My intentions were to sleep very deeply and long, since I went to bed at 5am! But, my phone rang at 9am (8am) in Lima. It was one of my customers wanting to talk about business. Ok, I’d take care of this later. I was thinking about what to wear and remembered the nice top Mel gave to me. Thank you!! It was the perfect gift! I took a shower and the phone rang again. It was Malvin!!! the TB!!! He was in Lima but would leave shortly, too bad I wasn’t there… I called my Peruvian buddy…

Like all lizzzards, the Old School Bill's Lizzzards are equipped with moveable eyelids for sunglasses and external ear holes for earbuds. Adults molt about every month, casting off skin in bits and pieces. Their feet differ from most lizzzards in that each toe has adhesive pads (lamellae) on its central portion, enabling the OSBL to climb and cling to vertical surfaces such as walls, fence posts, trees and leaves, on which they spend much of their time. Green and Cuban Brown O…

Twas the night before the 4th, when all through the landNot a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The Flag was hung on the dock with great care,In hopes that Independence Day soon would be there. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,I sprang from TravBuddy Central to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,More r…

How can a place year after year leave me in such stunned awe? It really is the fountain of youth. I thought after my father had taken some pictures of me jumping in the spring that we were all still behaving exactly like 25 years ago. Aren't I supposed to be an adult now, too old for such silly demonstrations of leaping joy for a parent to document? But nothing ever seems to change there. I'm always reduced to the innocence of a wide-eyed kid.

A lowrider is a car or truck which has had its suspension system modified so that it rides as low to the ground as possible. Lowriders often have usercontrolled height adjustable suspension. Lowriders are very often classic cars from the 1950s which rode low to begin with, although large numbersof 1940s and 1960s cars are also modified. The word is also used to refer to those who drive or own such cars. A lowrider will traditionally have as many factory offered accessories / optio…

The animals of Old School are a very tight group of friends of wide-ranging backgrounds, educational levels & work ethics. Some are here every day, the ones with very low or no work ethics.
Most just come by when they have a spare momentto visit, have lunch & a Beer.
If I'm not home they all have keys to the Beer Cooler.
The rule is simple if you drink it or eat it, you need to replace it…

When you photograph birds in color you photograph their feathers. But when you photograph birds in B&W, you photograph their souls! There is nothing in which Old School birds differ more from man than the way in which they can build and yet leave a landscape as it was before. ~Robert Lynd, & Old School BillOld School Gibsonton Seabirds have adapted to life within the marine environment of small town west coast Florida. Epcot Center at Disney World. I remember, even as a 12 year old that would normally have enjoyed the Magic Kingdom above all other parks, that Epcot was by far my favorite at Disney World. Maybe that was the scientist coming out in me. Epcot is a park where you can not only have lots of fun, but you can learn many things as well. Within the park there are several different themed sections like The Land, The Seas, Future World, and of course there's the World Showcase.S…
