We had both planned on getting up early this morning. I did not wake up until 10:00am. Oh well, I needed the sleep. Took a shower, got dressed, and ate some cereal. Oh course I had to sign on the Travbuddy and check my page....habit.  We left around 11:00am. We had two choices on getting there. Take I-275 north and go thru Tampa then St. Pete or head south on I-75 to I-275 and take the Sunshine Skyway Bridge over tampabay into south St.Pete. We decided on the later because we wanted to…

Well, I spent my last weekend in the sun before I start heading back to Alaska in a couple weeks. I hung out at Jacksonville Beach (Jack's Beach) for an evening and then went to Big Talbot Island north of Jacksonville (FL) and hiked back into a beach referred to 'Tree Skeleton Beach' due to all the deadwood around the beach from the years past weather beating down on the coast. It was fun to play around a little with my new camera..

7.OctoberThis early morning I was forced to be awake at 2am because of the noicy argument from the room beside. It was not expecting but somehow it helped me to get ready for the trip in time. After check-out from Marriott, we got inside the Limo and head to Newark airport. One thing I can easily remember from this airport is, no mailbox exsists. Now I'm on board and typing what's in my mind at the moment on iPhone, it's really practical. It's nice to enjoy the sunrise especially during the fli…

Prior to the mid 19th century, mariners referred to Manatee and Dugongs as mermaids. An example supporting this theory would be that Christopher Columbus had logged that he had seen mermaids on his journey to the new world, but thought they would be more attractive. These large aquatic mammals are notable for the way in which they carry their young, cradled in their arms much as a human would carry a baby.  It has even been posited that the traditional image of a mermaid with long f…

The drive from St. Marys, Georgia to Jacksonville, Florida was about 40 miles along I-95.  We get to our cousin's apartment, ditch our gear, and freshen up before going to his brother's house for dinner.  Meeting a clan of brothers and sisters plus their families was overwhelming especially since I have never met them before.  They were all transplants from the Big Island of Hawaii.  My cousin Mar knew them all because she used to spend summer vacations on the Big Island.&…

What a fantastic day my partner and I had.  After you park your car you head inside to get your ticket($10) and you chose between a 20 minute boat ride or a tram will take you to the park. We took the boat ride. Very nice and your guide explains the animals and vegetation along the way.  There are two shows that are a must. The manatee feeding and the hippo feeding. At the mantee exhibit the guide jumps into the water and feeds the manatee's. You can move on to the floating barge ov…
